We've seen mixtures of Roomba and Pac-Man before, but nothing like this. A team of developers have hacked five floor-cleaning bots to create a sort of OCD version of the game, with the Pac-Man bot sucking up little white rectangles whilst being chased by robot incarnations of Inky, Pinky, Blinky, and Clyde. But, when the Pac-Man vacuum finds a power pellet those ghostly rovers turn blue and start fleeing. The tech is supposed to be a demonstration of the developers' Unmanned Aerial System suite, designed for guidance of airborne vehicles, but we're too busy geeking out to care about potential real-world applications of this tech. Video below.

Microwavable Hot Boots, the simple solution to chilly feet. The boots are simple and low-tech, containing that special mix of flax seeds and herbs used in therapeutic heat pillows. Just nuke the boots in the microwave for 2 minutes and pop them on for toasty toes. Underneath, they’ve got a grippy sole so you won’t slip over on the tiles. The makers reckon they’re only for girls, but I think they’ll keep a bloke’s feet warm as well, your choice of course. If the Ugg Boot style isn’t for you, there’s also a slipper version. £14.99 for the boots, £12.99 for the slippers. They’re just not recommended for diabetics.

The Motorola Droid. Not to mix droid metaphors here, but I feel like it's the phone Darth Vader would use. And after a couple of minutes using it, I'm still excited about it. Updated with fresh impressions, photos and video.

Swedish hacker Hans Andersson doesn't need a robot to solve sudokus puzzles. That's because he's a genius capable of making a robot that can solve sudoku puzzles. He used Lego Mindstorms to do it, and even the writing is beautiful:

Phillips is hoping to make waking up a more pleasant experience with their new HF3490 Wake-up Light. The device comes with 20 brightness settings that gradually increase in intensity to ease users in to the waking world. For heavy sleepers who require more of a jolt, the alarm also comes with four preset nature sounds and an iPod/iPhone dock to add some aural stimulation. The Wake-up Light isn't just good for getting out of bed, but can help users drift off to sleep as well; there is "dusk simulation" mode that gradually dims the light and sounds to send users to the dream world. The Wake-up Light ships on August 22, but it can be pre-ordered now for $199.

The USB TurboCharger 3400 is a portable recharger which charges your devices when they run out of power. You charge it up from a USB port on your laptop computer and use any of the supplied adapters to hook up to your phone, MP3 player or other mobile tin. I’ve been using a predecessor of this for a while now, and they really work well, especially for those power hungry smartphones which can’t last the day without conking out.

What a sweet little monitor, did you grow it yourself? The Mimo Mini USB Monitor plugs, surprisingly enough, into your computer’s USB port and therefrom delivers a 7 inch portrait or landscape image of whatever you wish to display separate from your main screen. Perfect for wasting your life tracking Twitter messages or watching mindlessly vapid YouTube videos of unhappy teenagers railing about their paltry pocket money. $129.99.

As you recall Fon makes wireless routers for sharing. You install the Fon node in your house, share it with others, and then are given access to other Fonera routers around the world. It’s sort of a viral Wi-Fi community. Now, however, the Fonera is incredibly more interesting. The device can now access web services without the aid of a computer, allowing you to download torrents and “content” as well as upload to multiple services just by plugging in a USB key. The router also can be used as a webcam or print server and can connect to a 3G or HSDPA node and share the connection over Wi-Fi. It also supports 802.11n and acts as a wireless NAS with remote browsing capabilities. In short, the router just got much smarter.

Yesterday I held the new HTC Hero next to my iPhone. Not only the new Android handset has a surprisingly cool design—straight out of JJ Abrams' Star Trek or Kubrick's 2001—but it kicks the iPhone's plastic ass. Simply put, the Teflon-coated back just feels and looks a lot better than the iPhone's—now crappy looking, I admit—plastic back. The Hero's polytetrafluoroethylene—the technical name for DuPont's Teflon—coating feels perfect in your hand. It doesn't appear to get any skin oil at all. No greasy fingerprints, just a perfect matte finish no matter how much I touched it.

Yes, there is a difference. It's called Cuchini, a pad that adheres to bikini bottoms, panties (iPhone panties too, rendering them useless,) or shorts to "smooth the ridges of a woman's mons pubis." Why would you like to do that? I don't have a single clue. Maybe I don't get this because I do like the suggestive "ridges of a woman's mons pubis" and it would be really awkward to slide my fingers in a bikini this summer to find this thing inside.

Using facial recognition technology, the SmartFaucet is able to identify incoming hand-washers and adjust the temperature and rate of flow to their specific preferences. It's also networked, and has a touchscreen. Really! That tiny panel above the spout is actually an interface for something like a sink-Chumby, which places email, weather and calendars apps on your faucet. Despite coming across as a little flimsy and unresponsive in the video below, the faucet has a certain 1994-film-adaptation-of-Ri¢hie-Ri¢h-starring-Macaulay-Culkin kind of appeal, which is to say, it's just about the most ostentatious bathroom fixture you could possibly own

We're big fans of reality and feasibility, we swear, but something like this "EOS" concept phone Kyocera was showing off at CTIA is just too good to pass up. The handset folds up into what could roughly be described as a wallet shape, but folds out into two configurations: portrait QWERTY mode (pictured), and full-on widescreen OLED display (after the break). Samsung was showing similar screen-folding folding abilities, but a much less impressive handset, at CES. Things get even wilder, tough, with Kyocera envisioning shape memory keys that can morph flat when not in use, and a kinetic charging method based on piezoelectric generators and Mary Poppins. Sure, our great grandkids are going to have a good laugh at us for thinking this is lovable, but they always were a bunch of theoretical brats. Kyocera plans on implementing some of the concept ideas into its "near future" lineup of devices. We'll see how that pans out.

imagine this Bandai Noodle-maker/slide helped turn this family from dysfunctional and unhappy, to loving and close-knit. Do you see how much fun they're having watching their dinner fall 18-inches in dramatic fashion? Lisa over at Tokyo Mango writes that the Somen noodles start their journey from the house at the top of the slide, twisting and turning their way to the bottom, where the food is met by a strainer. It also looks like there are parts of the slide that house extra ingredients or something. WOWEEE!

A Japanese erotic game developer just put two and two together to make what could be the first instance of head tracking combined with upskirts in human history. The game Tech48 uses a webcam to detect where, in relative space, your head is. Move left and right and the polygonal maiden tracks her head left and right; move up and down, and you get to see her panties.

Imagine the first person that ate a shrimp. That ugly little creature from the sea ended up to taste so damn good. On the other side, consider the poor guy who first tried some stunningly good looking, bright red, little fruits hanging from bushes only to find out that they were deadly poisonous. It clear that both shrimps and poisonous red berries didn´t have a product test before being exposed to the humans, just like we have today with consumer products. This article gathers a group of 15 useful and enticing conceptual designs that for several reasons may never reach the production stage, but may set a trend and definitely make us whish they really existed.
